Current Topics in Qualitative Reasoning

Qualitative reasoning which automates reasoning and problem solving about the physical world was discussed. Qualitative reasoning has generated techniques and systems that enter significant application domains. Qualitative reasoning provides explicit representations of the conceptual modeling layer rather than only an executable mathematical expression. The development of better engineered and easy-to-use tools that facilitate the exchange of results among researchers was also discussed.
