Abstract

Any active or reactive current imbalance originated due to a single fault event is immediately covered by the synchronous machines in the system. Each machine covers a part of the imbalance according to a row of the normalised frequency divider. This mechanism is called current impacts analogous to its predecessor power impacts. Based on this method, an estimation of initial RoCoFs is presented and quantified with a study case of the European synchronous transmission system.
