Critical velocity of superfluid flow past large obstacles in Bose-Einstein condensates

Abstract

The critical velocity of a macroscopic obstacle in motion in a Bose-Einstein condensate “BEC” is investigated. The critical velocity is inversely proportional to the obstacle size. This proportionality is analyzed.
