Abstract

Electric motors which are used in spacecraft for different payload mechanism should be capable to deliver smooth and continuous torque efficiently in terms of power and mass. Slot-less Sine-Cosine motor, a type of Brushless Permanent Magnet motor with sinusoidal back emf pattern is a suitable candidate for such applications. This paper presents the control methods of a Slot-less Sine-Cosine Motor. Two major control methods are discussed with its merits and demerits.
