Abstract
During the coronavirus pandemic, methods of digital contact tracing were discussed and used in many countries in order to trace chains of infection and avoid overloading intensive care units. These methods are based on various technologies, such as blue tooth, GPS or QR codes. The applications have helped to contain the pandemic, but can have serious consequences, including mass surveillance. It is therefore advisable to consider ethical, legal and social concerns at an early stage in planning and design.
