Abstract

We briefly describes a configurable distributed monitoring system which we have built to aid in the debugging of parallel and distributed programs. Our system, BEE+PLU, allows the programmer to easily instrument and control a distributed program. We present the BEE+PLU system and discuss how it can be used to aid the debugging of parallel programs written in PVM, a popular message passing system for heterogeneous systems.
