Abstract

In this paper four minimized switch count ac/ac converter topologies for supplying three-phase four wire loads are proposed. All topologies use eight power switches (four legs) and the dc-bus midpoint connection. The converters provide bi-direcional power flow and can be employed for uninterrupted power supply (UPS) applications. The overall control strategy for providing dc-bus voltage, power factor control and PWM generation are presented. Experimental and simulated results are presented.
