abstract = "The performance of an automatic flight control system of two piloted aircraft could be improved by an actuator command compensation of nonlinear transmission effects in the electro-mechanical flight control system. A simulation model for investigation of nonlinear transmission effects was created and a compensation algorithm to mitigate these effects was developed. An improved flight control performance due to the compensation algorithm was demonstrated during flight tests with a very-light, all-electric aircraft and a twin-engine turboprop aircraft.",
