Color effects in pressure-broadened spectral holes

Abstract

We observe nonlinear color effects in the pressure-induced broadening of spectral holes burnt into resorufm-doped alcohol glasses. This observation is explained in terms of the correlation phenomena between dispersive and electrostatic forces.
