Abstract

The objective of the project presented was to visualize typical failure mechanisms in timber by using highly developed media technology, e.g a high-speed camera to show brittle failure mechanisms. In some cases, the film recordings were combined with contact-free measurements and finite-element analysis to better visualize the stress distribution in the test specimen.
