Abstract

The share of electricity produced by renewable energies is expected to further increase in the next years. The electricity generation of renewable energy systems like photovoltaic systems is not projectable. Storage devices therefore will be necessary to store the surplus energy. Electric vehicles can help to meet this demand. This paper introduces a charging strategy which maximizes the renewable share of the energy used to charge electric vehicles. This charging strategy is then analyzed in different low voltage grids and compared to a plug and charge strategy.
