Abstract
The TlAr, TlKr, and TlXe complexes have been produced by sputtering of a Tl electrode, and detected in a supersonic jet expansion by laser excitation spectroscopy. Analysis of the B 2Σ+←X 2Π 1 2 and B 2Σ+←X 2Π 3 2 transitions yields information about the vibrational potential and binding energies of the complexes. Their molecular constants are reported and the results are compared with other group 3A metals. Comparisons and trends within the group are discussed.
