Abstract

103 teachers were retrospectiv questioned on motives for occupational choice, emotions and attitudes when entering their job as well as occupational disappointments. The degree of burnout was measured with MBI. Structural analysis using LISREL showed that only "unrealistic aspirations" related with burnout. Enthusiasm, involvement, commitment, identification with the job, career expectations and other variables had no significance for burnout. This inquiry is a replication study of the burnout process in social occupations.
