Breathing current domains in globally coupled electrochemical systems: A comparison with a semiconductor model

Abstract

An electrochemical model is presented, focusing on its important parameters and the mechanisms leading to global coupling in the model. The dynamics of the model are characterized by linear stability analysis along the lines developed for the semiconductor model and by numerical simulations. The important features of both models are compared.
