Abstract

The healthcare sector in many countries around the globe faces the challenge to keep high-quality healthcare affordable and accessible in the context of increasing demand for healthcare and staff shortages. In order to cope with these challenges, a transformation of the healthcare domain is urgently needed. The availability of state-of-the-art BPM and DT methods, techniques and tools is an important asset in realizing the required transformation. By their adequate application, large gains with regard to the efficiency and the effectiveness of (inter-organizational) care processes can be realized. In this chapter, we present three examples of state-of-the-art applications of BPM and DT methods, techniques and tools that are illustrative in this regard.
