Abstract

Bis-trimethylphosphinimino-dimethylsilane has been shown to react with dimethyl and diethyl zinc as well as with dimethyl cadmium (not with dimethyl mercury) forming crystalline 1:1 complexes, in which the phosphinimin is acting as a 1,3-bidentate ligand to the tetracoordinate metal atoms.
