Abstract

In the automotive industry the forecast certainty of production factors is decreasing, because of the turbulent markets and the growing volatility of production cost factors in the global competitive environment. However, enterprises have to conclude long term contracts to build up buyer-supplier-relationships. This paper shows how the profitability of a buyer-supplier-relationship can be calculated with a combination of a mathematic model and the monte-carlo-simulation to integrate existing uncertainties and to quantify the economic risk of a cooperation.
