Abstract
During the recent years the business within the commercial vehicle industry intensified due to increasing competitive pressure. Furthermore the growing importance of lightweight design results in the application of new materials accompanied by increasing requirements towards joining technologies. In order to meet the growing challenges regarding aspects of product quality and pricing pressure among others, innovative production technologies need to be identified and evaluated.
