Abstract
Scientists and practically involved people alike acknowledge the fact that, when optimally organized, logistics constitute an outstandingly effective instrument for enhanced value creation. However, considerable difficulties are encountered in quantifying logistical performance in euros, and this, when at all, is carried out on a merely intuitive basis. In the interests of offering a solution to this problem the "Balance sheet-enabled logistics" project embraces the development of tools for the quantitative evaluation of company logistics. This article presents three tools which give an aid to the practical men to priorise investments into logistics.
