Abstract
Design data for a novel method in construction of retaining walls are given. Savings of approximately 25 percent are achieved by using metal strips, laid down horizontally in layers and fastened to the outer skin of the vertical wall. Strips are made of galvanized steel while a thin skin is usually made of reinforced concrete plates. An evaluation is made of other advantages offered by this construction method.
