Abstract

There seemed to be a link between high surgical and favorable operative outcome as well as low costs. Due to standardization of many surgical procedures, well developed technical skills of more surgeons driven by changes in the health care industry may question this link. There is little systematic information about root causes of observed coincidences in this field. There is consent about a minimal case load for learning technical procedures in many fields of medicine during residency programs.
