Abstract
Using literature data and the author's results, the fatigue behavior of solid test bars and butt welded bars is compared by the methods previously derived. This is followed by a discussion which is intended as an ″introduction into the problematics of finding a mathematical expression for safe fatigue stressing of welded aluminum structures″ .
