Abstract

This paper demonstrates the operation and control of an auxiliary resonant commutated pole (ARCP) inverter based on online measurement of the collector-emitter and gate-emitter-voltage. This technique is particularly beneficial for inverters with high switching frequency and small resonant tanks where nonlinear effects cannot be neglected. The proposed method has been successfully tested on a prototype converter and provides improved efficiency and stable operation over a wide range of output currents, DC link voltages and chip temperatures.
