Abstract
The manual transformation from control engineering models to automation devices like PLC’s is fault-prone and time-consuming. In this paper a code generator is introduced, which transforms automatically models from Simulink into an executable PLC code according to IEC 61131-3. The modular structure from Simulink is converted to Continous Function Chart in the PLC. The similarity of the graphical presentation facilitates verification and maintenance of the generated code. One application example is introduced to evaluate the quality of the code generator especially regarding temporal behaviour.
