Abstract

A review of analytical equations for the relation between deformation and service life is followed by a report of static and low cycle fatigue tests on AlZnMg1 and AlMg4. 5Mn alloys. Static and cyclic stress-strain curves are plotted. The use of such data in connection with calculations using the above equations to predict service life is discussed. In continued investigations, service life predictions and the behavior of welds under cyclic stress will be emphasized.
