Abstract
The trinuclear (chloro)gold(i) complex of the tritertiary phosphine PhP[C6H4(PPh2)-2]2 was found to have a compact unsymmetrical structure in the crystalline state which is retained in solution owing to the fixation of the gold atoms through intermetallic contacts.
