Abstract

Augmented Reality in Collaborative Factory Planning for SMEs – Requirements for Using. Market developments require companies to modernize and transform their production to remain competitive. This poses a significant organizational and financial challenge, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Factory planning is often outsourced to external service providers, especially for SMEs. However, the lack of involvement of production workers in the planning process can lead to suboptimal solutions and increased costs. Augmented reality (AR) can facilitate collaborative cooperation between factory planners and employees, utilizing their process knowledge to generate new solutions and increase acceptance of change. To successfully implement AR and enhance productivity and profitability in SMEs, it is crucial to identify requirements for a collaborative factory planning using AR. This article outlines the creation of the related requirements catalog.
