Abstract
Two groups of tourists, summer vacationists and skiers, both in the alpine center of Berchtesgaden (FRG) were asked to judge a number of photos of the Berchtesgaden landscape in summer state. Summer vacationists were interviewed in summer, and skiers in winter, both while staying in the landscape (Q-sort-method). The results show that in general the diverse land use types, as shown in the photos, were aesthetically assessed by both groups in a similar way. However, clear differences in judgement have been detected with regard to ascent aids in the landscape, like furnicular railways, rope ways, ski-lifts etc, which were rated significantly more positively by the skiers. -from English summary
