Abstract

This paper provides a method for assessment of deformation of timber facade elements against wind load, in the context of the European Standards. The assessment by mechanical models is based on principles of physical testing. The study shows that the calculation model provides results that are in good agreement with test results. The reliability of both methods, current assessment methods by physical testing and assessment method with proposed calculation model, is also analyzed and presented.
