Abstract

Digold complexes bridged via chelate ligands are also suitable for the molecular “gilding” of carbon atoms, as shown by the structure of the CAu6, complex cation 1. Due to the asymmetry of the ligand sphere the cations are chiral. The formation of 1 demonstrates that the aurophilicity concept can also be extended to bidentate ligands. (Figure Presented.)
