Abstract

Digold complexes bridged via chelate ligands are also suitable for the molecular “gilding” of carbon atoms, as shown by the structure of the CAu₆, complex cation 1. Due to the asymmetry of the ligand sphere the cations are chiral. The formation of 1 demonstrates that the aurophilicity concept can also be extended to bidentate ligands. (Figure Presented.)
