Abstract

Acromioclavicular (AC) joint separation is a typical sports injury following blunt trauma to the shoulder and considered as a common reason that athletes seek a medical advice following an acute shoulder injury [16]; it comprises approximately 9% of all injuries to the shoulder girdle [25]. Males in their second through fourth decades of life have the greatest frequency of AC joint injuries than females in a ratio of 5:1 [25].
