Abstract

The manufacturing industry is facing increasingly complex challenges due to globalization, shorter product lifecycles, and increased sustainability requirements. Traditional factory planning methods, often conducted without the involvement of production workers, are reaching their limits. To address these challenges, this article presents a method for employee participation in Augmented Reality (AR)-based, interdisciplinary factory planning projects. The use of AR makes it possible to present complex issues in a more understandable way, thus promoting cooperation between production workers, factory planners, and managers, and thereby improving the quality of the planning processes.
