Abstract

Energy demand is one of the main cost drivers in lithium-ion battery (LIB) production. To cut down the costs and reach an energy-efficient production, creation of transparency concerning energy demand and the correlations with process parameters is necessary. This paper presents a systematic approach for identification and analysis of energy data points and their interrelated process parameters along the LIB production process chain. Additionally, an overview of measurement strategies and possible technical solutions for energy data collection is provided. The developed approach reduces efforts in the collection of energy data and assists the industry in achieving a cost-saving battery production.
