Abstract

H3SiCH2Cl1 and its analog H3CCH2Cl differ in the polarity of the CCl bond. The first reactions of 1 have now been found which proceed differently from those of the “true” alkyl compound. (RCH3 or C2H5; repeated silylation finally affords R3PC(SiH2CH3)2). (Figure Presented.)
