Abstract

The evolution of oxygen on RuO2 and Pt was investigated in a temperature range of 298-180 K. The results indicate that the mechanism proceeds in a different way for RuO2 as compared with Pt electrodes. The evaluation of activation energy and frequency factors indicates that the entropy turnover of the reaction plays a significant role.
