Anaphylaxie auf allergologische testung oder therapie - Ein handlungsleitfaden zum notfallmanagement

During allergological testing or therapy anaphylaxis is a typical complication. Treatment of anaphylaxis should be planned in advance, and adequate equipment like emergency drugs, medical oxygen, anesthesia bag, intubation set, and automatic external defibrillator (AED) has to be available. As the patient's medical history and the causality between allergen exposure and a reaction are known, and as the development of different stages of anaphylaxis is medically attended, the emergency "anaphylaxis due to allergens used for testing and therapy" is different from a regular emergency physician's mission. It is advantageous that one can be prepared. Part of this preparation is that knowledge of therapy of anaphylaxis, sequence of procedures and responsibilities of each aider can be intuitively recalled. By planning, accord, and repeated training an emergency team can reach this competence. Diagramed flow charts can be helpful for instruction, training and emergency therapy, and have been proven and tested in other emergency situations. In this article, the effects of emergency drugs are discussed, and a compact compendium for the emergency "anaphylaxis due to allergens used for testing and therapy" and a one-sided flow chart to capture the procedures by one glance are provided.
