Analytical treatment of localized, stationary states of the discrete self-trapping equation

Abstract

The self-trapping equation describing a coupled oscillator system for a molecular chain with variable diagonal linear coupling parameters is investigated with an analytical method. It is shown that a single peaked solution converts into a double peaked solution as a specific diagonal coupling parameter is varied.
