An interference network model for optically-routed fiber-optic systems

Abstract

A memoryless channel model is introduced that is based on non-linear phenomena observed in optically-routed fiber-optic networks. The main characteristic of the model is that amplitude variations are converted into phase interference. Some observations concerning the capacity are made.
