N2 - A joint German-French experimental investigation was conducted in order to study stability and control characteristics of a fighter-type configuration at extreme incidences. Low-speed wind tunnel tests were conducted with a MBB pilot model in the tunnel S1/ONERA Modane ( phi 8m). The angle of attack regime investigated comprised alpha equals 0 divided by 90 degree . Emphasis was directed towards the stability and/or control contributions of configurational items such as strakes, canards, tails, redders and controls, and maneuver flap rudders as well as the technique of ″concentrated, spanwise blowing″ . Isolated and combined effects of those devices and systems are demonstrated, and some unconventional control devices are introduced.
