Abstract
Microporous aluminophosphates have been synthesized and characterized by intercation with bases. Moderatly strong Lewis acid sites and very weak base sites were found. The Brönsted acid sites present could only protonize ammonia, but not pyridine. The acid-base properties of the aluminophosphates resembled those of silica and amorphous aluminophosphates, suggesting that the channel structure (0.6 nm diameter) did not induce new acid base properties.
