Abstract

We demonstrate adjustable negative chirp from a directly-modulated, injection-locked 1.55-μm VCSEL by controlling the injection parameters. Chromatic dispersion tolerance is enhanced by greater than 10X at 10-Gb/s compared to that of a free-running VCSELs.
