Abstract

This paper presents different methods to control the timing of an Auxiliary Resonant Commutated Pole (ARCP) Inverter, considering also nonlinear capacities and inductances of the resonant tank. The methods are explained theoretically and evaluated with practical measurements in steady state as well as in transient conditions using a prototype two-level inverter with ARCP legs. The necessary computational and hardware efforts and performance in steady state and in transient conditions are discussed.
