N2 - The European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning and the Framework for Qualifications of the European Higher Education Area are two common European reference frameworks that are to link countries' qualifications systems together. As a reference for comparison of qualifications of engineers and computer scientists, however, they are still too coarse. This paper attempts to refine these descriptors and to merge them in a way that they are applicable to qualifications of engineers and computer scientists.
