Abstract

We have combined an electrical discharge-pulsed jet source with matrix isolation spectroscopy to produce matrices of high optical quality that contain large concentrations of isolated transient species. In our initial studies, we have been able to produce a variety of transient species, including the N atom, C2-, CS, C2F3, and CNN.
