Abstract

The aminal Me₂NCH₂NMe₂ is doubly metalated by LifBu to give LiCH₂N(Me)CH₂N(Me)CH₂Li, which reacts with chlorosilanes to afford the respective silylated species, including the six-membered heterocycle Me₂SiCH₂N(Me'iCH₂IN(Me)-CH₂ and the spiroheterocycle Si[CH₂N(Me}CH₂N{MejOH₂]₂-.
