Abstract

The aminal Me2NCH2NMe2 is doubly metalated by LifBu to give LiCH2N(Me)CH2N(Me)CH2Li, which reacts with chlorosilanes to afford the respective silylated species, including the six-membered heterocycle Me2SiCH2N(Me'iCH2IN(Me)-CH2 and the spiroheterocycle Si[CH2N(Me}CH2N{MejOH2]2-.
