Abstract

A new iron-core magnet beta spectrometer has been constructed at the High Flux Reactor in Grenoble. It is used for conversion electron measurements. The mean radius is r0 = 50 cm. Double focusing is achieved by the combination of homogeneous and 1/r fields. A momentum resolution of Δp/p (fwhm) = 8×10-5 has been measured. The properties of the new spectrometer are compared with other high resolution instruments.
