Abstract

A low threshold polymer laser based on metallic nanoparticle gratings was presented. Optically pumped lasing was demonstrated in a device consisting of a conjugated polymer on top of a two-dimensional (2D) distributed feedback (DFB) template comprising gold nanodiscs on indium tin oxide (ITO). A clear laser threshold behavior was observed with a threshold energy of approximately 2 nJ.
