Abstract

In this paper a 39GHz to 28GHz downconversion link is proposed and investigated; it is part of a comprehensive 5G repeater. The downconversion link is set up with a 39GHz low noise amplifier, a passively power-level adjustable 39 GHz to 28 GHz downconversion mixer and a 28 GHz power amplifier. Analog predistortion is used for linearity enhancement. The downconversion link yields a large signal power conversion gain of 32 dB, a linearly scaleable tuning range of 7 dB and an input-referred 1dB compression point of-22dBm. The power consumption of the whole system is 150mW.
