Abstract

This paper presents a novel 77 GHz transceiver design based on a simple and compact planar multilayer architecture. The module comprises a specific type of feed-through ratrace mixer and an aperture-coupled patch antenna both using low dielectric constant microstrip material. The broadband design makes the circuit suitable to be incorporated into a MMIC-based automotive radar front-end.
