Abstract

This paper is concerned with the history of the Institute of Photogrammetry and Cartography at Te chnische Universität München (TUM). A long time before the foundation of the institute famous researchers at TUM tackled topics in the field of photogrammetry and cartography. After Richard Finsterwalder, Ernst Gotthardt, Rüdiger Finster-walder, and Heinrich Ebner, the institute is currently managed in the fourth generation by the professors Liqiu Meng, Richard Bamler, and Uwe Stilla. Since the foundation of the institute in 1948 25 former staff members became professors.
